Could you believe that Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr., Shawn Corey Carter, Earl Simmons, and Christopher George Latore Wallace all came from the same vocational high school in downtown Brooklyn? To most outside the hip-hop world those names probably don't ring a bell, but they may know them better as Busta Rhymes, DMX, Jay-Z, and The Notorious B.I.G. respectively.
The school is located at 105 Tech Place, which is just south of Tillary Street and east of Jay Street and is named after George Westingouse, the electrical pioneer. Interestingly enough, it is also one of the schools that dropped a Native American-themed sports team name.
