Recently, when 16-month-old Jackson Taylor was in a car crash, the sheer force was so strong, he was decapitated (internally). An internal decapitation means that his head was still connected to his body, but the ligaments inside were severed. Basically, his spine was detached from his head.

All hope was not lost. Although it sounds terrible, after six hours of surgery, doctors were able to accomplish something amazing.

Now, Jackson must spend eight weeks wearing a brace as his spine heals. This injury could have been fatal, but this little boy experienced a miracle!

When Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Devers heard that there was an accident up ahead, he leapt into action. Because he was the first one on the scene, it was his job to assess the damage and to determine whether or not anyone was hurt. But when he got there, Devers realized that one man was experiencing the worst-case scenario.

That’s when the officer did something truly heroic.
