Is there anything better than watching a dog’s reaction to his or her owner finally coming home after being away serving their country? We don’t think so either. Seeing their complete and utter joy is something we could watch on repeat forever.

Melody had just gone on a trip to Spain for two weeks, and was ending an undoubtedly taxing and long journey home. She knew her husband of 33 years, Ed Zamora, would be waiting at baggage claim to pick her up when she landed in Austin, but she had no idea that he was going to do this!

What a Wonderful WelcomeWhat a Wonderful Welcome! Ed Zamora surprised his wife of 33 years Melody this afternoon upon arrival at Austin-Bergstrom. Melody was returning home from a two week trip to Spain. Ed showed up in Bag Claim with flowers in one hand and his trumpet in the other. When his wife stepped foot on the escalator, Ed took a deep breath and serenaded her all the way down by playing their song, “What a Wonderful World!” And that’s what you call, a wonderful welcome! Ed & Melody, thanks for sharing your special moment with us! And welcome home Mrs. Zamora!

There’s nothing sweeter than seeing two people still truly in love after spending a third of a century together. Congrats on being adorable, Melody and Ed, and thanks for making my day!
There’s a reason dogs are commonly referred to as man’s best friend. They love humans, especially the ones who cuddle with them, feed them, and walk them. So when one of those people disappears for a long period of time, it’s a bit of a heartbreak.
But when they return home, boy is it glorious. Watch how these golden retrievers greet their mom when she comes back after being away on a long summer trip.
These big puppies couldn’t be any happier! I love how one went to get a toy as kind of a welcome back gift — so cute.
Is there anything better than being reunited with a friend? These reunions are great for us, and also for the people who are lucky enough to witness them.
When this German shepherd saw his military buddy again, the pup’s reaction was priceless. His best friend had just returned home after months of active duty, so you can’t blame him for being excited!
He could hardly contain himself! These two have a lot of catching up to do, so I bet they’ll go for walks together every day now that they’re together again.
Traveling can be fun for those jetsetting off to new adventures, but for those left at home counting the hours ’til your return, it can be a brutal test of patience…
Especially if those hours feel like days like with our four-legged friends. Being gone for just a week can feel like years in their silly little heads, so it’s no wonder this cute, little pup was so excited to see his owner that he just couldn’t contain himself for one more minute.
