He is the oldest man to have trekked to the North Magnetic Pole by foot! Brian is an animal lover and owns 2000 pets. He therefore refuses to take a firearm on any of his adventures to defend himself against wild animals. One night a polar bear made its way into the camp and tore into Brian's tent. Apparently Brian stood up, yelled and punched the bear in the face. He did not see the bear again.
Mr. Blessed climbed Mt. Everest three times without the assistance of oxygen. Although he has not yet made it to the top, he wishes to keep on trying until he does. One of his expeditions were cut short when he had to save another climber's life. Another one was interrupted by an avalanche. The story goes that Brian shook his fists at the avalanche and yelled: "We came in peace!"
Brian is always the adventurer and also went on an expedition into the deep jungles of Venezuela. Unfortunately it started with a plane crash which Blessed survived.
Brian is now hoping to go into space for his next adventure. He says: "I'm a fully trained cosmonaut and have completed 800 hours training, which has made me the No 1 civilian reserve ready to visit the International Space Station. I am determined to go up and I want to explore the Moon, Mars and beyond!"
