Smoking near Apple computers voids the warranty.
It turns out that smoking is bad for both your health and, if you have an Apple computer, potentially bad for your wallet. Many people who took their malfunctioning Apple computers to the Apple stores to get fixed were rejected because the Apple store found evidence that the machines had been exposed to second-hand smoke. This exposure voided the warranty due to “health risks of second hand smoke.”
This would be a somewhat acceptable clause, but it isn’t written in the Applecare warranty and therefore catches many customers by surprise. Instead, working on something that has been exposed to nicotine is considered an Occupational Safety and Health Administration violation. There you go: More fuel for the Mac Vs. PC war.
