What She Does With Some Apples And Oats Is Quite Possibly The Best Fall Recipe

Fall is finally poking its breezy head around the corner. Our days will soon be filled with cozy sweaters, hot ciders, and delightful sweets like this scrumptious-looking caramel apple crisp.

The simple recipe yields some seriously yummy results. You definitely won’t want to wait for the leaves to change before you try out this dessert for yourself.

Slice five to six apples and put them in a bowl.

Granny Smith’s work great.

Mix together your dry ingredients:

1/4 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.

Then pour on top of the apples and mix until the apples are coated.

The juice from the apples will create a slightly syrupy consistency.

Place the mixture in a pan and scatter small balls of caramel over the apples.

For the crisp, grab a new bowl and combine a half-cup of oats, three-quarters cup of flour, one-quarter cup of brown sugar, two tablespoons of sugar, and half a teaspoon of cinnamon.

Add six tablespoons of soft butter to the dry mixture and blend into a batter.

Spread the batter on top of the apples in the pan.

Place into your preheated 350 degree oven and wait 25-30 minutes.

Pop it out of the oven once it’s nice and golden brown.

This is totally going on my Thanksgiving recipe list…not that I’ll wait that long to whip it up just for myself, of course.

Surprise Guests? Need Snacks? Not A Problem If You Have These Three Ingredients

If you’ve ever suddenly had to host people in your home, you know it can be frazzling to whip up snacks and beverages for everyone. Or…maybe you’re just really hungry and looking for a quick bite that doesn’t require much. Either way, you need a fast recipe. Luckily, Megan Porta, the genius behind Pip & Ebby, has one that everyone will love.

The process is very simple, and very fast.

You only need sliced corned beef (two per roll-up), cream cheese, and small dill pickles. Spread some cream cheese on the corned beef, and lay a pickle on top.

Roll everything together.

Now slice those bad boys into bite-size pieces, and serve!

Think of them as sandwich ingredients, but without the bread. No carbs, right?

These are good snacks to serve for casual lunches, game days, or movie nights. You can also feel free to experiment with different kinds of meats and cheeses, or different flavored pickles. A spicy pickle would be a great treat for people who like their snacks to have a little kick!

Add A Pop Of Color To Your Home By Using...Shaving Cream? Really, It Works!

If you love the look of marbled paper and fabrics, you might find yourself salivating over expensive, handmade items in local shops or on sites like Etsy. However, being the responsible person you are, you always sadly turn away from these items with the knowledge that your money could be better spent elsewhere.

Still, those were really nice things, and if you really want them, you can make them yourself without spending a fortune. You’ll probably need to pick up some fabric paints and a rubber squeegee, but a local craft store will have those for reasonable prices.

Check out this cool and cost-efficient technique in the video below.

It’s super easy, and completely customizable.

The nice thing about this project is that you can use any colors or patterns you like. Try experimenting with different designs and different ways to apply the paint. See what happens if you thin the paint with a drop of water. Try different tools — in the video, a handmade rake made from toothpicks and index cards was used, but an old comb will make neat effects, too. Get creative!

Also, the canvas you’ve been using as your base? See what that looks like after a few layers of paint have been applied. You might get some bonus wall art. The possibilities are endless!
