What They Found In Their String Cheese Is Totally Messed Up

String cheese is a snack that people of all ages enjoy. It’s fun to eat, it’s the perfect addition to any school lunch, and it packs a calcium-rich punch for those of us who have to eat on the go. The last word that could be used to describe string cheese would be “scary,” right?

Not so fast. One unfortunate cheese enthusiast recently had a less-than-pleasant encounter with their string cheese.

It looks like a normal package of string cheese at first, but when this customer started peeling it, something scary popped out.

A large metal nail was embedded into the cheese. This could’ve gone really terribly.

We can only hope that the company responsible for this error has since figured out how to stop it from ever happening again.

It’s a good thing that this guy is a peeler instead of a person who just chomps down on the cheese like some kind of monster. Peeling pays off, people. Consider this your lesson.

You Can Make An Epic Breakfast Sandwich Every Morning By Just Using A Mug

In this fast-paced world, breakfast is often seen as a luxury more than a necessity. You don’t have time to eat it and you’ll wait for lunch. You woke up too late and have too much to do before you can actually sit down and enjoy a hearty meal. We’ve all been here before, and it almost never leads to a good rest of the day.

But eating breakfast prevents you from devouring more during other meals and generally promotes a healthy lifestyle. So if you’re stuck in the constant cycle where you avoid this ever-important first meal, fear not! All you need are some basic ingredients, a microwave, and a coffee cup for a breakfast that anyone could fit into their schedule.

To start this lightning-quick recipe, you’ll need an English muffin, one large egg, two tablespoons of grated cheese, salt and pepper, and a regular-sized coffee mug.

You can also substitute the English muffin with another carb, like flatbread or a bagel.

You’ll also need one teaspoon of butter. Once you have the butter, lightly spread it on the inside of the mug.

Next, whisk the egg and mix in salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the egg for 30 to 35 seconds in the microwave on high heat.

Once the egg is cooked, add your cheese. Cook again in the microwave for ten to 15 seconds.

Once your cheese is melted, carefully take the egg/cheese mix out of your coffee cup…

…and add it to your toasted English muffin. You’re all done!

For some extra fun, you can add bacon to your egg mix.

Because bacon makes every breakfast better.

Get A Jump Start On Fall With This Autumnally Delicious Panini

We don’t like to admit it, but summer will, in about a month and a half, come to an end. The days will get shorter, the nights colder, and the leaves will begin to turn from green to reds and yellows. But don’t be sad — for one thing, August is far from over, so you still have plenty of time for fun in the sun. For another, fall is awesome! And this savory, spicy panini is a great way to get into the autumnal swing. Even in August.

Meet the Pants-ini.

This recipe comes to us via Tarika Narain over at Spoon University. She named this sandwich the “Pants-ini” in honor of the cooling weather — because the days of shorts become the days of pants.

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices cranberry walnut bread

  • 4 tablespoons maple almond butter

  • 4 tablespoons maple chèvre

  • ½ an apple

  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Spread the maple almond butter evenly on both slices of bread.

Slice your apples and your goat cheese.

Place the apple and cheese slices on one of the pieces of bread.

Place the other bread slice on top and cook for about seven minutes in a greased panini press.

If you don’t have a panini press, you can cook it in a frying pan like a grilled cheese, pressing with a metal spatula.

Now enjoy your autumnal goodness.

Okay, you don’t have to wait until fall for this. It’s a great sandwich any time of year, especially when you want something to remind you of the joys of autumn.

Hot Dogs Are Great, But Here's A Genius Way To Make Them Even Better

Summer is the perfect time for cookouts, and there’s no denying that the basics are hard to beat. But if you’re looking to add a little pizzazz to your next barbecue, you might want to try this upgraded version of the hot dog. And we do mean upgraded.

These take a bit of time to make, so if you’re feeding a crowd, we suggest making them beforehand so you can just pop them on the grill. (Or you can trick everyone into making their own.)
