Waiting to board a flight usually means impatiently standing in front of the airline’s gate, tapping your foot, and incessantly checking your cell phone. What you most likely don’t think about, though, is what the flight crew needs to do in order to prepare the plane for your arrival.

This is what the crew does in the 15 minutes before you even step onto the plane. It’s a flurry of busy tasks!

So, the next time you’re sighing and waiting to board, remember…there is probably a good reason for every single delay. The attendants need to clean, be briefed on aircraft details, and make sure nothing is left behind. Don’t be impatient — be thankful!

Flying is perhaps the greatest way to travel around the world. Sitting in an airplane is like sitting in a flying chair, and though we totally understand the science behind it, we still appreciate its awesome power.

…until it malfunctions.

When passengers from Shenzhen, China, saw this happening inside their plane, they were seconds from absolutely freaking out. If I were on this plane, I wouldn’t think too highly of soaring amongst the clouds again.

What initially looked like smoke scared more than a few passengers on this flight.

However, they quickly learned it was just steam.

The steam was a result of the incredibly high humidity in the cabin interacting with the A/C.

How would you have reacted? I know I would have panicked and said my prayers. Sure, it’s steam, but how do you know it’s steam, huh?

There’s no way to sugar coat this so I’m just going to say it: poop fell from the sky and hit a sweet sixteen birthday party in Pennsylvania this week. You know how a bird pooping on your head can ruin your whole day? Imagine that but with human feces, and a lot more of it. (Not to mention the fact that you’re a 16-year-old girl and all your friends are here and you’re now super embarrassed.) Talk about a party pooper.

It was in Levvitown, Pennsylvania, where one girl’s sweet sixteen party suddenly started smelling a little less sweet. That’s because the sky showered the celebration with some human feces.

A plane was flying by and decided to expel its waste while flying because they apparently forgot how gravity works.

Some of the guests got showered in poop, but luckily the cake had already been moved inside. The birthday girl’s stepdad was prepared for a little cleaning up after the party. This just wasn’t what he had in mind.

This girl should probably get some free plane tickets for her troubles. In any case, the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, as planes are supposed to drain their waste while at the airport, not while flying over important teenage milestones.
