This Little Girl Loves CVS So Much That She Had A CVS-Themed Birthday Party

Sarah Fortune recently threw the most unique birthday party of all time, and it was all her daughter’s idea. Iris, now four years old, has a very real love for CVS. Yes, that’s right. She loves a drugstore chain.

To her, this store is a magical place full of yummy snacks and awesome toys! What’s not to love?

To start, let’s just establish how much Iris really loves CVS.

Like…a lot.

That’s why she decided to have a very special birthday party.

Instead of channeling her inner princess, this girl threw a CVS-themed bash!

There wasn’t much for Mom to search on Pinterest, so she had to wing it.

She obviously pulled it off really well.

At least CVS has a simple color scheme to work with.

Even the goody bags were on point.

Iris’ grandma got their local CVS to give the b-day girl a shoutout!

Headquarters also sent out some party favors for the guests.

They were a big hit.

Iris is a lucky girl. Her mom went above and beyond to organize this awesome party.

Even though the theme was a little atypical, everyone had a great time!

There were even some CVS-themed treats for the adults.

Don’t worry. These are just Tic Tacs.

CVS was almost as excited as Iris was for the big day.

And they sent lots of yummy snacks to prove it.

Now that Iris’ love for CVS is known to the world, the fun will never stop!

Iris is an adorable girl who really knows how to enjoy the little things in life — including the ones we take for granted every day. Keep up with Iris and her mom’s adventures on Instagram, and on Sarah Fortune’s blog.

Every Year, This Dog Owner Does Something So Adorable For His Pup's Birthday

There are those out there who might judge dog mommies and daddies for treating their fur babies as if they were their, y’know, actual children. But those people are clearly lacking a fundamental part of their hearts, because, duh, dogs are just the best.

This handsome fella’s humans know exactly how to treat their great dane with all the love and occasional spoiling the big guy deserves. Every year on his birthday, no matter what, they take a break from their own lives to spend the whole day pampering their pooch with adventures, good eats, and a nice snoozefest.

His name is Duke, and if you’re like me, you’re probably already in love with him.

The day starts at the park, where Duke enjoys running around, sniffing all the wonderful smells.

He also takes the opportunity to catch up with all his little buddies.

Ah, nothing like the feel of fresh air (and bugs) in your gums on the way back from the park!

Up next: his very own birthday “cake,” cooked to medium rare perfection.

He’s patient, but something tells me he’s ready for the birthday song to be over before it starts.

Make a wish and dig in, Duke!

After all that awesome packed into one day, a nap is definitely necessary.

And then they count down the days until the next birthday extravaganza!

I have a feeling the rest of the year is still pretty special when it comes to living with this cutie. Maybe next year we can all get an invite to the party? We’d be more than happy to provide plenty of presents!

This Mom Gave Her Daughter An Amazing Birthday Party, But It'll Make You Cry

Athena Krueger was a lifelong planner. She had a successful career in software sales and a happy marriage. Her next plan was to become a mom.

Sadly, her plan was thrown for a loop when she discovered a painful lump in one of her breasts just 15 weeks into her pregnancy. The lump was discovered to be cancer, and was already aggressive.

Cancer during pregnancy is extremely rare, but is more prevalent in women who have children later in life.

Amari, whose name means “precious gift from God,” was delivered by C-section eight weeks prematurely so that Athena could undergo chemotherapy.

While some of the treatments appeared to work, the cancer continued to spread throughout her body, and it seemed all hope was lost. Athena, a woman of great faith, decided that she wasn’t going to let terminal cancer stop her from expressing her love for her family.

In her final weeks in hospice care, Athena planned a lavish, over-the-top party for Amari’s first birthday. The event was one that she had struggled to see, and the only one she would ever see. She planned the whole thing, invited hundreds of family and friends, and decided to enjoy herself.

The party, which saw some 300 people in attendance, was Alice in Wonderland-themed, with Ben playing the part of the Mad Hatter.

She attended the party, which was held on May 2, and had a blast. The party allowed her to see all of her family and friends, and spend time with her husband and daughter outside of the confines of the hospital.

The party was a great success.

Amari’s actual birthday is on May 5. Athena lived to see it, but she passed away the following day. She died peacefully at home with her husband, having lived to see and accomplish what she most desired. She died on her own terms, and with the happy memory of her daughter’s first birthday, at the young age of 33.

Interviews with her family and friends show that Athena will be remembered as a faithful, determined, and loving woman.

“It’s awfully tough to be sad when you got [Amari],” Ben says. “It’s really sad and tough right now, but tomorrow the sun will come up again, and we will make the day what it is. It’s what Athena would want.” Ben will be continuing Athena’s mission of raising breast cancer awareness and encouraging early screenings.
