If you have ever traveled on an airplane before, then you’ve experienced the sudden jarring motions of a plane landing. You felt a sudden thud as the plane’s wheels hit the runway and the brakes did everything they could to slow the giant craft to a screeching halt. These landings can be rough, but trust us, you have not experienced the worst.
Birmingham Airport in the U.K. is home to perilous crosswinds, which often make landing a plane a lot more terrifying than a simple touch-down. Pilots are often forced to “push” the plane down onto the BHX runway by merely floating onto it. This creates a startling effect that tests the nerves of seasoned pilots from around the world.
