This cat somehow managed to escape with at least one of its nine lives in a rather precarious situation after stowing away on an ultra-light aircraft flight.
A video showing the stowaway cat was posted on YouTube, revealing the kitty as it digs its claws into the aircraft’s wing while its pilot and passenger fly hundreds of feet above the ground – at first apparently unaware of its presence.
The French pilot in the clip, Romain Jantot, cites a flying club in Kourou, French Guiana, in the film’s description. He uploaded the video last month that captures the moment the cat crawls out of its hiding place inside the left wing as he flies hundreds of feet above the ground. To date it’s received nearly 17 million views.
The cat who is said to be a longtime mascot of the flying club, somehow managed to hold tight to the wing until the pilot was able to bring his plane back down to the tarmac. Some three minutes after takeoff, the flight came to a happy conclusion and the cat leaps to the runway.
In the video, Jantot says, “A standard flight until … I still don’t know if it got in after the pre-flight check or if I missed it. The cat is doing well, she is still our mascot.”
In the future, you can bet the airborne feline will find somewhere else to enjoy its cat naps.
