Elizabeth (Liz) Climo is the talented illustrator behind the Simpsons, and she is also the creator of adorably hilarious cartoons featuring everyday animal interactions, which she posts to Tumblr.
Humans encounter all kinds of awkward situations in our everyday lives. Climo’s awkward everyday lives of animals series puts our furry friends in the hot seat, hashing out what life would be like if they interacted with one another how humans do.
When Climo isn’t busy working on her funny, awkward animal cartoons she works as a character artist and storyboard revisionist on set for The Simpsons. Her website reads, “My day job is pretty demanding, so it’s hard enough just finding the time to do these comics.” Somehow she finds the time to create these funny comics as well as children’s books and greeting cards.
Climo is on top of the world, working on one of America’s most popular television shows of all time. Yet, it wasn’t always caviar and ‘can I have your autograph?’ for this talented artist. Climo shares, “I studied Art at San Jose State University but was rejected when I applied to the school of Animation. Then, two weeks later, I got a job on The Simpsons. The lesson? Stay in school – unless the school doesn’t want you and you get a job offer. In that case pack your bags and don’t look back.”
