One of the largest waterfalls in Iceland, Skogafoss plunges for nearly 60 feet and is over 80-feet wide. than 80-foot width. According to local lore, buried treasure lies in one of the caves behind it.

One of Iceland’s most famous attractions, this geothermal spa contains waters that are 98 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. The warm waters of the lagoon are soothing and rich in minerals like silica and sulfur, believed to help to heal skin disorders like psoriasis.

This large glacial lagoon created by glacier melt just a half-century ago is continuing to grow rapidly as the polar ice cap melts.  The icebergs constantly break off the glacier, drifting through the short river and into the sea. The waves return some to the black sand beach where they lie scattered across like gems.

Strokkur geyser erupts once every four to eight minutes, and soars as high as 65 feet. One of the country’s greatest natural attractions, it sits in the heart of a geothermal field, surrounded by bubbling springs and yellowed rocks in the east region of Thingvellir National Park.

This black volcanic sand beach is known for its rock formations that rise straight of the sea like the Trolls of Vik.
