Cleveland's tap water is better quality than Fiji Water bottled water. Seriously.

FIJI Water is a brand of bottled water sourced, bottled, and shipped from Fiji, an island country in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean. The water is available in 330ml, 500ml, 1 liter and 1.5 liter bottles. According to the marketing information distributed by the company, the water comes from an artesian aquifer in Viti Levu. FIJI Water's headquarters are in Los Angeles, California.

In 2006, Fiji Water advertised the water by saying: "The label says Fiji because it's not bottled in Cleveland". Cleveland's water department took offense to this and viewed it as an insult directed at them. They decided to run tests and compared a bottle of Fiji Water to Cleveland tap water and some other national bottled brands.

The findings must have been embarrassing for Fiji Water, because the results revealed that Cleveland's tap water was better than Fiji's bottled water! Fiji Water apparently contained 6.31 micro-grams of arsenic per liter; where as the tap water of Cleveland contained none.

That was not the end of the company's woes. In November 2010, Fiji deported Fiji Water director of external affairs, David Roth, for "interfering in Fiji's domestic affairs," leading to the resignation of interim defense and immigration minister, Ratu Epeli Ganilau.
