On the flight to Australia as part of their press tour for 21 Jump Street, Tatum and Hill drank a lot. When they arrived in Australia, black out drunk, they decided to go for a swim and chose a beach that was known for its very strong riptide.
Hill went in for a dip and before he knew it was swept out to sea. Convinced he was going to die, Hill swam as hard as he could for the beach but to no avail. Eventually, a man on a jetski pulled him back to the beach to safety where he was greeted by paparazzi.
The next day, Hill opened his Australian newspaper to find some less than flattering photos of himself nearly drowning.
