JFK was reportedly wearing a shoulder-to-groin brace that held him upright when he was shot

President John F. Kennedy is known for a number of things, both noble and disturbing.

He pushed to get a man on the moon, charismatically lead the country with gripping speeches, and reportedly had many affairs with the many women he came in contact with. Turns out, one of his last romps may have contributed to his untimely demise.

In September of 1963, a mere two months before his fateful trip to Dallas, Texas, JFK reportedly enjoyed himself a little too much while lounging poolside with one of his ladies. He tore a groin muscle, resulting in a stiff shoulder-to-groin brace that locked his body in an upright position. He ended up wearing the brace, along with a more common back brace, for his trip to Dallas.

When Lee Harvy Oswald took the first shot (barring all conspiracy theories pertaining to grassy knolls), it struck JFK in the neck. A damaging blow, but not lethal. The braces he wore, thanks to his frat-boy-like lifestyle, kept him upright and in plain view for the second and fatal shot.

Of course, Seymour Hersh's book, The Dark Side of Camelot, where this information is reported, could be just more controversial fuel to the fire to provide or debunk crazy theories on how and why the president was assassinated.
