In Finland. Santa has a postal code to add to his North Pole address

We all know that Santa lives at his workshop at the North Pole, building toys and feeding his reindeer. But one country thought they'd make his residence a little more concrete, claiming the big man for themselves with a special postal code.

Finland reserved the special 99999 postal code for Korvatunturi, the place they believe Santa Claus (or Joulupukki in Finnish) lives. Korvatunturi can be found within the Urho Kekkonen National Park, and its name translates to "Ear Fell" in Finnish due to the unique ear-like shape.

Some evidence that Father Christmas may be present is the hundreds of thousands of reindeer that roam the land. The large ear shape of the fell is said to provide Father Christmas with the ability to hear every child's Christmas wish.

There are no roads that lead to the fell, but plenty of hiking trails exist to provide access.

Along with creating toys and wrapping gifts, Jouluppiki's gnomes (not elves) are guardians of the people's homes and responsible for analyzing weather patterns for the yearly trip around the world.
