Big gamer? You might be suffering the Tetris Syndrome!

The Tetris syndrome (or Tetris effect), occurs when people devote a very high amount of time and attention to a particular activity that it begins to overshadow their mind.

Their thoughts, mental images, and dreams are all related to that particular activity, which can include playing too much video games, watching too much television, reading, studying, exercising, and anything you can think of.

One of the most common examples of this phenomenon is people who play Tetris for a prolonged amount of time. They might find themselves thinking about ways different shapes in the real world can fit together, such as boxes, grocery bags, buildings, cars, etc.

The Tetris Effect is a form of habit, a very bad one, the only way to get rid of it is by stop devoting too much time to the activity that’s affecting you.
